An exclusive experience for lovers of cuisine and the unique taste of Tuscan’s diamond from the dirt, the truffle.

All that is needed to participate is a sense of adventure and a good appetite. Guests will be collected at around 4 pm by a private driver for the picturesque journey from Florence or surrounds to their destination in the Mugello area of Tuscany.

A traditional Italian welcome will await guests upon arrival to the private home of their hosts: a glass of Prosecco. The customized Tuscan cooking class menu will include a selection of seasonal appetizers such as delicious Crostini and Bruschetta, mouth-watering cured meats and delectable cheeses from the region, “pinzimonio” of seasonal vegetables served with cold-pressed extra-virgin olive oil, hand-made pasta served with fresh truffles and a unique dessert such as truffle tiramisu.

The meal will be accompanied by a glass of delicious local white wine and a glass of red, perfectly paired with the dishes prepared. Guests may choose to participate hands-on in the preparation of the pasta or sit back and relax whilst enjoying the most unique and prized tastes of Tuscany.

Upon conclusion of this exclusive culinary treat, the private driver will return guests to their accommodation. Buon appetito!

The Mugello area is a gourmand’s dream, having a rich culinary tradition blending peasant foods and the gastronomic treats enjoyed by the likes of the Medici family who owned villas there.

To this day, the best foods in the Mugello are prepared in-house, hence why this culinary extravaganza takes place in the private kitchen of a local family. Having purveyed truffles for over 95 years, they are able to share with guests their expertise garnered in the truffle trade over generations.

Truffle varieties are seasonal, signifying that recipes evolve throughout the year in accordance with that offered from the fecund soil. For spring and summer, that is the black truffle varieties. During the warmer months the cuisine is light and crisp, with the art being the “less-is-more” approach to maintaining the flavors bursting from the bright and fragrant fresh produce.

During the colder months, Tuscan food takes on a different personality, resulting in hearty and comforting dishes. Winter also presents the highly-prized white truffles.

What never changes is that the food is always delicious and always perfectly paired with the best local wines!
